Hello there, I'm Florida Man Josh, owner and founder of Florida Man Roleplay. If this link made it to you, it wasn't luck and it wasn't a mailing list. We only send a handful of these out, and every single one goes to a specific person that somebody here looked at and said, "yeah — they'd get it."

So why you? It's different for everyone, but it always comes down to the same few things. Sometimes it's content you've put out that showed the kind of creativity we build whole sessions around. Sometimes it's the games and communities you clearly enjoy and the way you carry yourself in them. And sometimes it's simply being an adult who obviously loves this hobby but seems to have outgrown the chaos of big public servers. Nothing weird — nobody's digging through your life. It's just that when you've spent enough years in this hobby, you start to notice the people who'd fit. Whatever it was for you, someone here noticed it, and that's the only reason this page exists in your hands.

A little about me, so you know who's talking: I grew up on the classic era of story-first roleplay videos — the slow, funny, character-driven stuff where a simple traffic stop could spiral into twenty minutes of gold. Years later I got into FiveM myself and found out that style barely existed in practice. Most public servers were grind, nonstop lights, or shootouts on repeat. I just liked telling stories with people. So I did the slightly insane thing and built my own server from scratch — FMRP, rooted in the wild, beautiful Pinellas County, Florida, where I was born and raised.

We launched publicly in summer 2024 and it grew faster than I ever expected — packed nights, 30+ civs, and some of the best RP memories I've ever had. But by December 2025 I'd learned something important: the bigger a public server gets, the faster it drifts away from the creative, story-first style that made it worth building. So I made the call to rebuild — fully 20+, fully whitelisted, smaller and more intentional, built for experienced roleplayers who want their RP to actually mean something.

Here's what FMRP honestly is right now, no inflation: a small crew that runs a session or two every week, usually 4 to 7 of us, for a few hours of genuinely fun, creative RP. No grind, no economy to keep up with, nobody rushing your scene to get to a shootout. Everyone in the server knows everyone else, and when a scene lands, it lands because people put real thought into their characters and gave each other room. We're not trying to be big. Small is the feature, not a phase.

Because of that, everybody comes through the same door — including the people we invite personally. The whole whitelist process takes about an evening: a short application, a ten-minute conversational interview, an open-book rules test, and a self-paced onboarding course we built ourselves. Nearly all of it is automated — roles update and next steps unlock on their own, so you're never chasing down staff. It's designed for experienced roleplayers, so if you've got real RP time under your belt, none of it will faze you. It's just what keeps a session with seven people feeling better than a session with seventy.

And if the LEO side calls to you, that path is open too — not as some gauntlet, but as an academy genuinely worth taking. It takes some real onboarding work, but the people willing to put it in are exactly who we built this for, and what's waiting on the other side makes it an easy trade.
